About Elena Kaplan

After spending the bulk of my career as a tax lawyer advising employers on their benefit programs and non-profit entities on compliance with the tax code, I currently manage the grants made by a global nonprofit. I have been engaged in my community through involvement with various civic organizations and bar associations. Currently, I am the Financial Advisor to the Chi Omega chapter at Ogelthorpe University. In the legal realm, I have served the State Bar of Georgia as a member of its Board of Governors, as Chair of various committees, including the Finance Committee, and as president of the Young Lawyers Division. I have also served as a vice-chair of the Employee Benefits Welfare Plans Subcommittee of the ABA Tax Section and as a member of the Joint Committee on Employee Benefits. In the civic realm, I previously served as president of the East Atlanta Community Association and a co-founder and treasurer of the East Atlanta Beer Festival.
