ABOUT ELENA CARMAGNANI
PhD Architect with knowledge in design, sustainable architecture, communication and social innovation. Graduated with honors in 1995 at the Politecnico of Turin; in 1997 DEA (Diplome d\'Etudes approfondis) at Ecole d\'Architeture Paris Belleville; in 1997 Resident Artist at the Akademie Schloss Solitude of Stuttgart; in 2003 PhD in Building Design at the Politecnico of Turin. In I founded the architectural firm where I currently work as project manager whith a special focus on exhibit and interior design and landscape design. Beetween 2005 and 2014 I’ve been responsible for communication and cultural activities at the Urban Center Metropolitano of Torino, where I was in charge of design and coordinate temporary exhibitions, talks and events. In 2015 I founded OrtiAlti a non-profit organisation of architects, landscapers, researchers, agronomists and educators that deals with the dissemination and experimentation of urban horticulture practices and regeneration of under-used areas of the city (such as flat roofs), through the involvement of citizens in the care of places.
