I am a recognized leader in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility at the Federal Level. I co-lead the federal Interagency Working Group for Inclusion in STEM. I work within USGS, and the Department of the Interior, and across federal government to create policies and programs that promote equity, belonging, and inclusion in STEM through and anti-racism perspective. IN FY24, I am co-leading the implementation of the USGS DEIA Strategic Plan. Throughout my career, mentoring has been an important focus, from women graduate students in Arizona to middle school girls in Florida to urban and rural minority youth and teachers in Texas. My passion and focus has always been on helping students, especially those who are underserved, reach their goals.
