ABOUT ELEANOR MAWREY KC

Eleanor is an experienced barrister practising in serious crime and fraud. She specialises in financial crime and is listed in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 for her work in this area. She regularly prosecutes and defends in high value fraud cases; often where the defendant is a professional or in some position of authority. She acted for the SFO in the recent high-profile prosecution of bribery and corruption case involving contracts to supply military telecoms equipment to the Saudi Arabian National Guard under a government to government arrangement run by the Ministry of Defence and is currently instructed to prosecute Joe Anderson (former mayor) and Others arising out of corruption within Liverpool City Council. Other recent work includes prosecuting for the FCA in a large investment fraud and defending in one of the largest corporate private prosecution to date. Eleanor also prosecutes and defends all other types of criminal cases including serious violence, such as attempted murder and high-value drugs cases. She is a grade 4 on both the CPS General Crime Advocate Panel and their Specialist Fraud Panel. She is a SFO A Panel advocate.
