ABOUT ELEANOR G. WHITE

Eleanor White has worked in the fields of mixed-income housing development and public administration since 1967. Ms. White is President/CEO of Housing Partners, Inc, a Boston area-based national housing consulting firm she formed in 1995 with Marvin Siflinger. Housing Partners is working with a wide range of public and private-sector clients on topics relating to new housing development, multifamily housing policy and strategic planning, issues of diversity, Preservation, and most recently 40R Smart Growth Zoning and the Workforce Housing Trust Fund.She has lectured at the MIT Center for Real Estate, MIT DUSP, Tufts Univ, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She was appointed by Mayor Menino to the Mayor’s Housing Advisory Group, was Chair of the Boston Foundation’s Housing Policy Committee, and was a Founding Board Member of the School of Public Policy at Northeastern University. In Ms. White received a National Diversity Award from Fannie Mae and Working Mother magazine for her extensive work on behalf of people of color and women, in 2004 she received the Boston Foundation Civic Achievement Award, in 2006 she received an achievement award from HomeStart, in 2007 she was inducted into the Academy of Women Achievers by the Boston YWCA. She and her husband received the Community Service Award from the American Jewish Committee in 2005. In 20••••08, Ms. White served on the Housing Policy and Urban Policy Committees advising the Barack Obama campaign for President and served on the Obama National Finance Committee. Ms. White lives in Newton, MA, with her husband Barry, an attorney/U.S. Ambassador (Ret.); they have been married since 1967 and are the parents of three sons, 2 granddaughters and one grandson.
