Eleanor is a dynamic leader in non-profit management and international policy and is an experienced team player specializing in sustainable development and women’s rights. She has expertise working on international policy and advocacy, including UN processes on climate change, sustainable development, health, cities, disaster risk reduction, migration and gender equality. Eleanor has written numerous articles, is regularly invited to speak as an expert at conferences and events, and is a respected facilitator of meetings and discussions. She is passionate about social and environmental justice and recognizes that human rights are fundamental for ensuring well-being and a healthy planet, whether in cities, rural areas or anywhere in between. She has worked with diverse constituencies and in movement building around sustainable development and gender equality. Whether budgets, research or advocacy, her work is driven by a belief in inclusiveness, transparency, accountability and collaboration. Eleanor has a strong background in education from years teaching 4th grade bilingual Spanish in California public schools, and a foundation in human resources in both academic and technology sectors. She volunteers in her local school district to support a culture of sustainable development in the schools and in our future leaders.
