ABOUT ELDRED WILLEY
I am an interpreter for German and French, working in both directions, simultaneous and consecutive, on-site and remote. I have interpreted DE/FR>EN at the European level for the EU narcotics board, FR>EN for Johnna Rolland, the Mayor of Nantes, at the Eurocities Conference, and EN>DE at the European conference for Canon. I interpreted DE>EN at the National German Congress on Youth Work, and have recently been specialising in German and French medical interpreting. I also translate DEEN. I have translated DE>EN two 20k-word reports for Menschen für Menschen about their development work in rural Ethiopia, ES>EN a 400-page travel journal through 12 African countries by a Spanish economist, and RU>EN the annual report of a major Russian cancer charity. I translate regularly for Aid to the Church in Need from German, French and Spanish. I am a trained international journalist with gifts in writing and presenting, confident in sending stories and pictures from the field. I served on the editorial team of a London journal, to which I contributed articles from the Philippines, Bolivia, the Czech Republic, Germany and France. I have extensive experience in developing and managing relief and development projects. I have worked with outstanding disaster response teams in DRC, northern Iraq, Nepal and Bangladesh, and on longer-term development projects in Myanmar, Nagorno-Karabakh and South Sudan.
