About Eldred D. Lesansee
As a legal fellow at the U.S. Senate, I served the Committee on Indian Affairs in the Office of Chairman Brian Schatz (D-HI), where I analyzed and drafted legislation, conducted research, and advocated for tribal interests on local, state, and federal levels. I leveraged my previous experience as a policy analyst at the New Mexico Indian Affairs Department, where I managed and supported various initiatives related to behavioral health, broadband, cultural heritage, and economic development, especially in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am currently pursuing my J.D. at Columbia Law School, where I am the president of the National Native American Law Students Association for the 2023-24 academic year. I also hold a master\'s degree in international development from Sciences Po, where I studied as a Fulbright scholar. I am passionate about serving Indigenous peoples worldwide and advancing their rights, interests, and well-being. I have strong skills in international relations, intercultural communication, and foreign languages, which I have applied in various academic, professional, and volunteer settings.
