One Young World Ambassadors independently make connections with each other and world leaders to take action that positively impacts the lives of millions of people around the globe.Eldon is the founder Ottawa Young Leaders Fund and Co-Founder of the Youth Leaders Advisory Council for Black History Ottawa. Based in Ottawa, Eldon aims to address urban disparities and improve the social, educational and economic advancement of visible minorities, aboriginals, and newcomers to Canada.Having witnessed an inter-generational communication gap between Millennials and Babyboomers, Mr. Holder became interested in civic engagement and youth mentoring.In 2014, Eldon ran a grassroots campaign for public office as a candidate for City Council. As the youngest black candidate to run for office in the city\'s history, his mandate was to represent and balance the interests of the residents of Innes Ward with the long term and immediate needs of the broader community. Prior to becoming a HR Professional, Mr. Holder served as a Special Economic Assistant for the Mayor. In that capacity, he worked on preliminary projects such as the LRT, the Housing and Homelessness Plan, and the Ottawa 2017 sesquicentennial anniversary of Canada. Eldon also held several positions within the Federal and Provincial Government; namely in Business Development and Youth Employment.When he’s not developing employment strategies or planning equal opportunity Job Fairs, Eldon volunteers with Camp Quality Canada as an Event Coordinator.
