About Eldon Thomas
I am passionate about my profession. If asked by Kai Ryssdall of NPR\'s Markeplace to describe what I do in five words, those words would be “Own the relationship, leverage the enterprise” – OK, that’s six words but if I do those things the results will follow and they have.My experience is entirely in the industrial sector with manufacturers of highly engineered products and technologies. Early in my career I managed regions and moved quickly into management roles including leading field and inside sales, marketing, customer service and pricing. Several years found me immersed in ERP implementations – owning MRP and forecasting. Our customers have spanned a variety of industries including CPI, refining, O&G E&P, pulp & paper, steel, renewables and now other clean technologies including H2 and CCUS. The channel has often been direct, but at various points I’ve worked heavily with and managed distributors and less frequently, agents for long cycle, capital projects products. The last twenty years or so I’ve been in global roles - I’ve enjoyed seeing the world and making friends on four continents and in dozens of countries. Now that travel has resumed, I am enjoying reconnecting. I grew up on a dairy farm in Ohio – as a teen my Father sold the cows so I hired out to neighboring farmers mostly baling hay and later driving a milk truck. I went on to university at Bowling Green and later took my MBA at University of Houston. Most of the time these days I call Houston home and spend my free time with my Bride and reading, fishing, following the Astros and being entertained by our grandchildren. Life is good, God is good.
