This role involves working in partnership with PCNs, ICB, and GP surgeries to address health inequalities in the city by increasing referrals for smoking cessation, adult weight management, children’s weight management, and physical activity. I do public speaking regularly which involves speaking to public health commissioners and managers, clinical directors, clinical staff, and GP surgeries. I have worked on campaigns such as Know Your Numbers, Stoptober and Diabetes through Local Design Teams and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. We also go into surgeries and community events around the city to do Health Checks for Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, and BMI. We work closely with Care Coordinators in the NHS on Healthy Hearts Programmes including helping to update patients records for QOF. I also am the city trainer for the FREE Healthy Conversations training called Let’s Talk Health and have trained over 40 companies including working on a pilot to train all managers at Nottingham City Housing. I have trained Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Trent Bridge, Framework, Nottingham College, as well as many others. I design and do presentations for GP surgeries showing them data regarding referrals from their surgery. We attend practice meetings regularly for each of the surgeries in the city. We work in partnership with many organisations in the city and have been on the BBC during Know Your Numbers week.
