WORK HISTORY
Event Production - Nashville International Puppet Festival 2013 @Nashville Public Library
From June 21-23, 2013 puppet troupes from all over the world will gather at the Downtown Public Library and neighboring venues for Nashville International Puppet Festival. Performers from Japan, China, France, Argentina, Germany and across the US will delight audiences with their craft, offering both traditional shows, interactive audience workshops, puppet making and live music. The festival, which is free and open to the public, is for adults and children and is sponsored by the Nashville Public Library Foundation and its community partners Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. An exciting new addition to the festival will debut on Saturday morning at 9 am. To celebrate Nashville’s 75 years of puppetry, which began with the Tom Tichenor Marionettes in 1938, there will be a PUPPET PARADE, complete with a band, floats, artists, musicians, dragons, larger-than life puppets, community participants and Mayor Dean as our Grand Marshal! It will begin in front of the library on Church Street, continuing on 5th Avenue of the Arts, past the Fifth Avenue galleries, around the block to Union Street and Legislative Plaza, ending back in front of the library at 9:30 am, where The WannaBeatles will kick off a set of Beatles songs on the Church Street Park Music Stage. We are also hosting two adult-oriented events at outside venues - “String City: Nashville’s Tradition of Music and Puppetry,” a new show created by Wishing Chair Productions for the Country Music Hall of Fame, will debut at CMHoF’s Ford Theater on Thursday, June 20th at 7 pm. TPAC hosts the second event “Martinis & Marionettes” featuring Phillip Huber and the Huber Marionettes in Johnson Theater on Saturday night, June 22nd at 7 pm. Both shows include a reception before the show. Tickets available May 9th online at nashvillepuppetfestival.com or by calling Please visit for additional information as it is posted.
