About Elaine M.

A senior global health professional with over 17 years of progressive experience, I have demonstrated experience in health program implementation, strategic leadership, technical oversight, and grant design and management. I have worked in family planning/reproductive health, maternal and child health, nutrition, as well as HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases in over 45 countries advancing integrated, country-led health solutions in low- and middle-income settings. With a focus on clinical and community-based service delivery, I led programs that focused on successfully delivering high quality, patient-centered health information, products, and services in the most resource constrained contexts. Viewing our health care workforce as our allies, I worked to strengthen their resources, supports, and opportunities so that they could do their best work and provide the best health care. Equitable, sustainable access to healthcare relies on strong policy, ongoing advocacy and financing. No one organization can solve these complex problems alone, so I believe in the power of building, leveraging, and nurturing partnerships to get the work done and to do it well.My skills and experience are transferrable to domestic public health, education and social service sectors. I am inspired by local solutions led by local partners, informed by and building on what has been learned regionally, nationally, globally. I enjoy creating opportunities for knowledge synthesis and organizational learning and sharing, and breaking down those sector siloes we can get stuck in. I lead with empathy, curiosity, and a practical mindset. As a strategic thinker and strong collaborator, I excel at bringing diverse stakeholders together, translating evidence into action, and managing complex global portfolios and teams.
