Dyslexic learner with a longstanding passion to advocate, raise awareness and increase accessibility for students with visible and invisible disabilities in higher education. •Mentor for The American Psychological Association’s Disability Mentoring Program •Student representative for The Association of Family Therapists of Northern California (AFTNC). •Experienced in working with at-risk/high-risk youth and emerging adults from unserved and underserved communities, facilitating crisis intervention, and using a harm-reduction and motivational interviewing (MI) approach to treating substance use disorders. •Experienced in program/group curriculum development and facilitating process and psychoeducation groups for caregivers, as well as court-mandated and voluntary at-risk/high-risk youth and emerging adults ages 12-24. •Over 10 years of experience working with LD students both individually and in small-groups on academic and behavioral challenges such as: Dyslexia, ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, OCD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression. •Orientations of interest include: Psychodynamic/relational, Humanistic, Biopsychosocial-cultural, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, and other integrative approaches.
