ABOUT ELA BORENSTEIN

After more than 20 years in the world of drug and medtech development, I was fortunate to be able to join the investment team at BDC bringing risk capital to promising healthcare and life sciences companies. As the VC industry evolved, I shifted focus toward a broader scope of the innovation ecosystem and have the privilege of directing BDC\'s role in the support of the federal government’s incentivized programs to increase the availability of venture capital in Canada. In addition to financial programs designed to devlop the VC industry in Canada, I am also responsible for GP Academy, a unique BDC offering to provide education on best practices and peer-to-peer learning for Canada\'s leading investors. This ties in directly to my experience as a Class 17 Kauffman Fellow. Whenever possible, I am happy to connect with new grads and entrepreneurs who want to learn more about what we do.
