I established Blue Badge Designs Ltd to fill a market gap for stylish disabled parking permit wallets. The company evolved into an internationally recognised brand with an extensive sales and distribution network, largely due to a focus on blending practicality with aesthetics. In August 2015, my appearance on BBC Two\'s Dragon\'s Den triggered a surge in orders, even though I turned down multiple investment offers and remained committed to UK-based manufacturing. This decision paid off, resulting in significant growth. At its peak in 2020, I achieved a 50% year-over-year revenue increase, reaching a seven-figure turnover and employing 30 staff.Blue Badge Designs Ltd faced cash flow complications due to COVID disruptions, leading to liquidation. Subsequently, I reacquired the assets and rebuilt the brand from scratch. Outsourcing manufacturing and distribution allowed us to focus on brand development, sales, and marketing. This strategic shift positioned us for re-entry into the direct-to-consumer market, expansion in wholesale markets, and considerable revenue growth.
