ABOUT EJ TENSINGH
After dedicating 38 years to Civil Engineering and Docks & Harbour Engineering, culminating as Chief Engineer of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority in Tuticorin, a Major Port under the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, I retired on December 31, 2012. My career commenced as a Junior Engineer in the Highways & Rural Works Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, and progressed through various positions at Tuticorin Port Trust, ultimately achieving the role of Chief Engineer.During my tenure, I was honored to receive the prestigious GOLD AWARD for VOC Port, India from Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, former Director General and CEO of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in recognition of our outstanding achievement in Environment Management.Throughout my professional journey, I acquired extensive experience and expertise in Civil Engineering and Docks & Harbour Engineering. This included a notable foreign assignment with the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan spanning approximately 4 years, during which I visited 11 foreign ports, significantly enhancing my international exposure. Additionally, I pursued postgraduate studies in Docks & Harbour Engineering, Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, and Computer Applications to further augment my skills and knowledge.Since retiring from V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, I have been actively involved in consulting roles. I have served as a consultant with Kamarajar Port Ltd, Chennai, another Major Port under the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, from 2013 to the present. Currently, I also contribute as a Resource Person with the Indian Ports Association, New Delhi, act as a Transaction Advisor with New Mangalore Port Authority, and hold the position of Senior Consultant with Overseas Port Management (S) Pte Ltd (OPMS), Singapore.
