Greeneprints Strategy, Camp Fort Greene Founder + DirectorIn 2013, Eisa founded Camp Fort Greene, an LLC and winner of a Best for New York Award in the category of Best for Community (2015) and a Certified B-Corps (2016). In January 2017, Eisa and two other women reorganized the business to form a 501(c)(3), Greeneprints, Inc, in order to cultivate strategic relationships with community organizations and, in those relationships, continue to provide high quality, low-cost educational programming. The organization has grown from a small cohort of a dozen children and two employees to a community institution serving about 100 children a week. With a staff of 70 and management team operating on a seasonal basis, Eisa manages all aspects of Greeneprints\' direction, including program and staff development, advancement, community outreach, compliance, and daily directorial duties. Eisa also serves as Greeneprints Board President.Eisa earned a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has taught elementary school in Baltimore and in East Harlem and worked as an Education Consultant for the National Book Foundation. A member of the English Department faculty at Hunter College, Eisa was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute. She teaches the literature of Africa and the Diaspora. She wrote the curriculum guide for the feature documentary film Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth and regularly writes lesson plans for Mosaic Literary Magazine. A novelist, essayist, and award-winning journalist whose work often explores various aspects of African American culture, Eisa has written numerous articles about education.Eisa serves on the Board of Trustees at Brooklyn Friends School as Clerk of the Board Advancement Committee and member of the Board Finance Committee. She was formerly a member of the Brooklyn Friends Fund Committee, Co-Chair of the PAT Diversity Committee, Co-President of the PAT, and on the Search Committee for a New Head of School. Eisa’s volunteer work extends to the broader New York Community. She serves on the Advisory Board of play:groundNYC, the organization that runs the adventure playground on Governor’s Island. Eisa was also President of Mocha Moms Brooklyn for four years and, in that capacity, conceived of and launched the annual Education Expo.

Camp Fort Greene is our signature program.Greeneprints is a nonprofit that provides youth programming. The intention of Greeneprints is to maximize the culture of giving that is an inherent aspect of our core business values. Greeneprints enables Camp Fort Greene to enter relationships with community institutions, and in those partnerships build opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and play. The intentionality of our programming in the areas of art, environmental stewardship, gardening, sports, science, and technology, offers opportunities to help young people leave their mark on the world. The prints of the young people we serve are green(e) because of our commitment to the environment and Greene because our business was founded in Brooklyn’s dynamic Fort Greene community. As we grow, we wish to remember and honor our origins.In all the communities we serve, now and in the future, we want young people to draft their own blueprints for the future. What will the world they inhabit as adults look like? At Greeneprints, we believe in young people’s ability to design and execute a powerful, fresh vision of their own to guide them as they journey forward.
