As a Senior Agriculture Economist at the World Bank since 2021, I led the identification, design, and implementation of projects supporting agrifood system transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LCR). Recently, I have led the preparation of two multi-phased programmatic approaches (MPAs) programs totaling US$2 billion. These MPA aim to enhance the competitiveness and resilience of agrifood systems in Brazil and Colombia. I have overseen the implementation of complex multisector sector investment projects in several Brazilian states (i.e, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará). The design and implementation of these projects required high-level technical and operational engagement with government stakeholders (i.e, State Governors and Ministries). These high-level technical dialogues were often based on advisory and analytical services in crucial areas such as productive alliances, agricultural extension, and climate-smart value chains, which I have led over the past two years in Brazil and Colombia. Additionally, I have secured nearly US$14 million in trust fund resources to support agricultural policy repurposing in Colombia. Finally, I have actively contributed to developing comprehensive Country Development Diagnostics (CDDs) and Country Partnerships Frameworks (CPFs) for Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role includes mentoring young professionals and other staff (GE and GF) in the World Bank.
