About Eirene Luturmas
I am an educator, trainer, and emerging policy researcher passionate about empowering communities through education in both formal and informal settings. Over the past 10 years, my work has spanned teaching, curriculum development, educator training, and leadership support, with a consistent focus on helping people grow in knowledge, confidence, and capacity to create change.Originally from Indonesia, I have worked closely with schools, educators, and underserved communities, and these experiences have shaped how I understand education: not merely as instruction in classrooms, but as a powerful tool for personal growth, community empowerment, and advancing equity and justice in contexts marked by inequality. This is why my work has extended beyond schools into broader learning spaces, including leadership development, community-based initiatives, and adult education efforts.I am currently pursuing graduate study in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Boston University, where I am deepening my understanding of leadership, equity, policy, and research. I am especially interested in work that connects practice and systems change; from school improvement and educator development to community-centered learning and social impact initiatives such as migrant empowerment and reintegration support.Across every setting, I care most about designing meaningful learning experiences that strengthen people, expand opportunity, and equip communities to flourish. I am drawn to opportunities in education, policy, research, training, and mission-driven organizations where learning can be used as a force for empowerment, equity, and justice.
