I\'m a seasoned AI lawyer with particular expertise in data privacy and intellectual property matters. As the lead or sole counsel for Nano Banana, world modelling and SIMA, as well as for DeepMind\'s interactions with the video game industry, I provide both product and commercial counsel on AI from early ideas, to research & development via strategic deals through to productisation. Previously I advised GDM\'s SynthID and robotics teams. I trained at Allen & Overy and worked in their commercial, IP, technology and data team. In my earlier professional life, I worked as a Parliamentary Assistant to a Member of Parliament. International and domestic politics and policy remains of great interest to me.
