The dry milled ethanol industry is in its infancy in the development of value added products. Distillers Corn Oil has been only produced for the the last 10 years. More technology is being developed to fractionate the DDGS streams. I have worked in all of these area. The new horizon is to fractionate the starch component of the kernel in a way that the starch can be separated and then saccharified into dextrose. Once an ethanol plant can produce dextrose it is a lot closer to being competitive with a wet mill and enjoy the margins seen in that industry. I have been working for close to 10 years on making this a reality. The patented technology owned by Green Plains through its acquisition of Fluid Quip technology is the fastest way to make this a reality. Looking forward to proving this in production.
