Contributing to the engineering team at Willard Marine, a leading U.S. builder of mission critical vessels for military and public safety since 1957-Develop general arrangements, inboard/outboard layouts, machinery, steering, piping, structural, and hoisting system drawings using Rhino and AutoCAD-Work on high performance vessels, including military, patrol, law enforcement, first responder, and SOLAS boats etc. such as various sized RHIBs and Crystaliners-Manufacture aluminum and wood parts in house using CNC machinery; create toolpaths with VCarve Pro and operate machines efficiently-Utilize the Prodim Proliner precision measurement system for accurate 3D data acquisition, dimensional verification, and design integration; train others on Proliner usage-Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including BOMs, part numbers, specifications, and assembly instructions with proper version control-Collaborate with internal teams and serve as a technical liaison with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers to meet performance and compliance goals-Participate in water testing of vessels to evaluate real world performance and ensure design integrity-Contribute to quality assurance efforts and continuous process improvement across engineering and production-Train new CNC operators and support team knowledge transfer to ensure operational consistency and safety-Stay current with evolving marine design trends, software tools, materials, and manufacturing methods to drive innovation.
