ABOUT EEWEI CHEN

I have worked in the new media creative industry since 1993. Rumours are, I created one of the first animated gifs, helped design the first secure online musical distribution service (before itunes), Cerberus Sound & Vision, launched the first online music publication, NME.com, and helped set up one of the first full-service digital design agencies in the UK, Conchango (now part of Dell EMC).At Microsoft I launched MSN in Russia, Canada, China and Korea as well as supporting other EMEA sites; improving the online user experience to over 550 million users worldwide. I have had the privilege of leading cross functional teams as Creative Director at ThoughtWorks UK, Solutions Director at Sky TV (BSKYB) and Head of Digital Experience at Ooredoo; using Lean Startup, Lean UX and Agile methodologies to design and deliver strategic B2C, B2B digital products and services across, finance, travel, entertainment, publishing, marketing, retail, entertainment and telecom sectors. At Marks & Spencer, I led the UX design of a new ecommerce retail startup launch. At Turner Broadcasting, I led the design of a new digital entertainment video on demand subscription service for web, app and Smart TV. I am currently at Virtusa setting up a UX Design practice whilst also serving as their telecoms digital principal consultant at BT; supporting BT shape their Experience Design strategy and ensure a quality delivery of their Global Experience enterprise applications.I love speaking, running workshops and building concepts, using design as an idea catalyst. I lecture a few times a year at the Kingston Business School on Lean Start-up and the User Experience Design. My job right now allows me to lead a design practice and drive real design innovation and business change. I look forward each day to solving problems and growing digital capabilities for our clients: creating world changing products and services across advertising, banking & financial services, insurance, healthcare & life sciences, telecom, media, information and entertainment, retail and travel sectors.
