The early 80s – an era when Chennai was still Madras, when conservativeness and simplicity were still the hall-mark of the city, when high-rise buildings weren’t the order of the day and stately office buildings lorded over the city. Two men, V.S. Nataraj & Venkat Aiyadurai, with complementary skills and a cohesive vision started an eponymous architectural firm – Nataraj & Venkat Architects (NVA) – in 1984. Since its inception, NVA has conceptualized, designed and infused life into several residential, commercial and other spaces, each of which reflect the values that NVA stands for – simplicity, solidity and refined elegance. With the collusion of form and function & backed by our core strengths of design and project management, the firm has had the privilege of working with prestigious roster of clients – ranging from individuals to multinationals - that have had a long standing relationship with us. Over the years, several successful projects have been executed across various sectors including residential, commercial, IT/ITES, educational institutions, sports and infrastructure, industrial structures, R&D centers and interiors. Our services span the entire gamut of design and construction consisting of architecture, interior design, landscape design, engineering services and project management. The firm’s engineering services include structural, electrical, HVAC, building management, fire safety and plumbing. While architecture, interior design, project management & related services are provided in-house by NVA, landscape design and engineering services are provided through specialised consultants, who have been associated with the firm for a long time and in all its projects. Our team of nearly forty-five people includes architects, CAD operators, engineers and other support staff is a blend of experience and youth. Team NVA shares the firm’s philosophy of simplicity and functionalism, and consciously endeavours to reflect this philosophy in our work.
