ABOUT EDDIE THOMAS

Eddie Thomas is the Chief Technology Officer of Metropolis, a stealth start-up based in Los Angeles. He has been leading technology teams for more than 15 years and has over 20 years of hands-on technical experience. He was the CTO and Head of Product at DogVacay where he grew the team from 4 to 35. He was responsible for the architectural vision of the marketplace platform and led the development, prioritization and implementation of the product roadmap. DogVacay was acquired by Rover in 2017.Prior to DogVacay, Eddie was the Head of Engineering at eharmony, where he led the international expansion to Canada, UK, Australia, Brazil and Japan. He managed a team of 80 engineers across the Application Development, QA, DevOps, Data Analytics and PMO teams. He led eharmonys’ transition to mobile applications and architected a major redesign effort to migrate eharmonys’ monolithic web application to a service-oriented architecture. Eddie’s experience with early stage startups goes back to when he was hired as a Software Engineer at LowerMyBills.com. As one of the founding members of the engineering team, he built a lead generation platform that allowed LowerMyBills to rapidly expand to new verticals. The internal tools he built for the marketing team, enabled LowerMyBills to become one of the biggest digital advertisers of its time. He implemented and led the Home Lending vertical that put LowerMyBills on the path to being acquired by Experian Interactive for $380 million.Eddie is also active as an entrepreneur and technical advisor. In 2016 he founded Wysepool. At its core, Wysepool was a scoring algorithm that quantified the skills and experience of software engineers. The experience of launching his own company gave him the opportunity to build strong relationships with leading venture capital firms in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Eddie has a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from Mumbai University.
