ABOUT EDWIN GUERRA CASTREJÓN

I am an Engineering Designer and BIM Specialist with experience in project management, net-zero carbon advisory, building energy modeling (BEM), building information management (BIM), workflow optimization, GHG emission modeling and data visualization. My passion is for improving the built environment. I am strongly aligned with the International Living Future Institute\'s vision for promoting a socially just, culturally rich, and ecologically restorative society. I have been advancing low carbon buildings through energy modeling/simulation for all stages of design as well as by authoring reports and modeling emissions to support energy sustainability plans for municipalities and transportation authorities. Previous to this I have close to a decade of experience where I have been consulting and training design consultants from the AEC sector and building owners/operators in the use of Revit and the overall BIM process with a focus on data quality and data management. I have overseen and supported BIM strategy in multiple projects including infrastructure, healthcare, commercial and educational focusing on facilities maintenance and operations and digital project delivery. I have experience in BIM standards development, BIM compliance, QA/QC,virtual coordination, data transfer for FM, report writing and meeting facilitation. One of my personal passions is for data visualization and communication through interactive dashboards through the use of tools like Tableau and PowerBI. I am equally passionate about applied research and have led efforts in streamlining heating and cooling load calculations from BIM as well as the quantification of embodied carbon metrics for buildings. I have sponsored and organized community art events such as the Broadway East Art Walk, Film Festival and Neighbourhood Public Grant projects supporting community art and connection. Software: Dynamo, Revit, Solibri Model Checker, IES-VE, HAP, RETScreen, Tableau, PowerBI
