Responsible for managing the day to day administration, strategy, innovation and data/statistics for SAG-AFTRA’s Equity & Inclusion department. Works in collaboration with department leadership and staff on the execution of the department and union-wide strategic initiatives related to equity and inclusion. Responsible for the research, collection, and analysis of data and statistics connected to the employment of diverse members and member demographics. Serve as DEI subject matter expert to members, industry professionals, and SAG-AFTRA staff with respect to all aspects of the Equity & Inclusion Department’s work in the areas of union, city, state, and federal policies and practices regarding inclusion, equity, harassment, and non-discrimination. Reviews, recommends, and implements policies, regulations and procedures that address issues of disproportionality, equity, inclusion, harassment, and non-discrimination in the entertainment and media industries. Lead and manage the planning, programming, and conducting of educational engagements for member and staff on policies and practices related to inclusion, equity, harassment, and non-discrimination.

Edwin is a dynamic leader with over eight years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), program management, policy compliance, and workforce development within the entertainment industry. A 2025 Los Angeles Latinos 40 Under 40™ honoree, he is recognized for his impact, leadership, and commitment to advancing equitable systems and opportunities. He brings proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale initiatives, fostering strategic partnerships, and delivering measurable, community-centered results.Adept at building and leading multidisciplinary teams, Edwin drives organizational transformation and engages diverse communities to expand equitable employment pathways for entertainment and media professionals. He is known for aligning DEI efforts with business strategy and industry needs while ensuring operational excellence.Edwin currently serves as an Advisory Board member of Somos Familia Valle and is the former Director of Advocacy for the Los Angeles chapter of Somos LOUD, the Latinx affinity organization of AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation). During his tenure, he embedded civic engagement, political advocacy, and community outreach into Somos LOUD’s annual activations and long-term advocacy goals. His work helped address healthcare disparities impacting Latino communities by leading the development of Spanish-language resources aimed at educating Latinos about HIV healthcare and prevention, while breaking down cultural stigmas surrounding HIV and healthcare at large.
