About Edwin F.
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, I am a SR MEP Cost Control / Mechanical Estimator at Yates Construction, a leading general contractor in the US. I specialize in mechanical design, project bidding, contract management, and cost optimization for large, complex, and prestigious construction projects, ranging over $2 billion. Currently, I am working on the Stellantis Kokomo EV Battery Plant, a 3.2M SF facility that will produce electric vehicle batteries for the global market. I am responsible for ensuring all MEP costs are accurately captured and reconciled against the budget, reviewing and validating claims for additional costs submitted by contractors, and negotiating settlements within budget constraints. I also review project costs and identify areas for improvement to optimize future projects. In addition, I am an author and publisher of a children\'s adventure series and a translation book for English, Spanish, and Hmong languages.
