Edward “Woody” Maher, Jr. is Executive Vice Chairman of Newmark\'s Capital Markets Group and Co-Head of the Boston Capital Markets team, one of the nation\'s most successful institutional investment sales groups. Over the course of his 35-plus year career, Mr. Maher has specialized in the disposition and/or joint venture/recapitalization of commercial real estate exceeding $100 billion. The assets range from Class A office towers and life science properties to suburban office campuses, large-scale logistics parks and urban mixed-use assets across the northeast United States. His clients include many of the world\'s largest and most respected pension funds/advisors, developers, private equity firms, REITs and banking institutions. Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Maher was Vice Chairman with Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston-based Capital Markets Group, the firm’s #1 investment sales team globally.A 1987 graduate with honors from the College of the Holy Cross, Mr. Maher is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Mr. Maher has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility and served on a variety of philanthropic boards and committees. He is currently a member of the Board of Overseers at Boston Children’s Hospital, a Trustee at Derby Academy and is a passionate supporter of the Navy SEAL Foundation. Mr. Maher is also the co-founder of Champions for Children’s, an annual benefit that supports Boston Children’s Hospital and has become the hospital’s top fundraising event. Mr. Maher resides in Boston with his wife Jane.
