Registered Architect, LEED Accredited Professional, Community Organizer & Public Policy Advocate. Over 40 years of experience in Design for Housing Justice, Health Care, Religious, Commercial, Residential and for the Performing Arts. Exploring the intersection of Sustainable Design & Community Development. Recent Project: Architect/Planner for Occupy Madison Village, conversion of former service station lot to Tiny Home workshop & \"Tiny Homes & Gardens\" gated community, a demonstration project for a self-sustaining residential cooperative for chronically homeless residents of Madison.(UPDATE: Village now houses 8 people in tiny homes and has covered its expenses through retail sales of craft items, plants & flowers and other enterprises for over 10 years (Opened November 2014). A second larger Village has been operating for 3 years and is approaching completion of its master plan which will provide 22 tiny homes on a restored site. Both Villages have successfully located in connection with a residential neighborhood. Village #1 was the first in the nation to do so. Other projects recently completed or in construction: Residence at 40 Fuller Court, Maple Bluff, WI - Major addition/renovation to existing Mid-Century Modern home; Residence at 2402 Commonwealth Ave, Madison, WI - Addition/Renovation of existing 1924 home; Mullen Residence - Addition/Alteration of historic Madison home in University Heights neighborhood (Awarded 2014 Historic Preservation Award by Madison Trust for Historic Preservation); Kuharski/Lowe Residence - Addition & extensive renovation of ca. 1859 Italianate brick twin home in Philadelphia, PA; Martinelli-Spoolman Residence - Front & Back porch additions for Madison home in Monroe Street neighborhood; Morrisonville, WI Train Depot - Reconstruction; Cafe CODA Jazz Club,\'Aubergine\' Community Room for Williamson Street Grocery Coop, Zapata Coop - Conversion of large home to 14-bed cooperative house serving Madison\'s predominantly hispanic neighborhood.
