Since stepping into the Senior Engineering Manager role, my focus has expanded from team execution to shaping the future of OrgStore, Datadog’s internal Postgres platform. I lead an organization of roughly 30 engineers through a combination of direct and indirect management. My leadership team includes four engineering managers, four staff engineers (two of whose promotions I was proud to sponsor), and a product manager. Together, we’ve scaled OrgStore significantly, improving throughput, reducing unit cost, and expanding its footprint across the company.I work closely with our PM to ensure we’re building the capabilities our internal customers actually need, and with my fellow managers to establish processes that make OrgStore a reliable, predictable partner for teams across Datadog. I also maintain regular, direct engagement with stakeholders to surface opportunities, resolve friction early, and enable meaningful cross-org collaboration.Hiring and talent development are a core part of my role. I’ve interviewed dozens of candidates for both IC and leadership positions across Datadog, hired multiple engineers into my organization, and built out my management bench by hiring two engineering managers. In a small number of cases, I’ve also partnered closely with our People Business Partner to address underperformance thoughtfully and responsibly.
