ABOUT ED CURTIN
As a software engineer who emigrated from the Republic of Ireland to the UK in 2014, I have gained extensive experience in the.NET desktop and Universal Windows stack. In addition, I have worked with various technologies and languages, including React Electron, Typescript, and Node, to develop Desktop applications for deployment across different platforms.Throughout my time in the UK, I have collaborated with numerous organizations across Manchester and across the United Kingdom, helping them meet their software development requirements. My passion for software design has led me to believe that it is one of the most critical aspects of any engineering project, enabling engineers to have a full understanding of the problem domain and make informed decisions that increase flexibility in the long run. As a result, I have a habit of prototyping solutions ahead of implementation to mitigate risks and ensure progress towards project delivery.Drawing on my experience from working in various industries, I approach each software development requirement from multiple angles, employing skills and knowledge gained over the years to create optimal solutions. I also draw on my people management skills from my time in the logistics industry and believe it makes me a stronger member of any team with the ability to make decisions, own them to fruition while including others as part of the decision making process. As a mature student, I returned to university to pursue my education and earned a 1.1 First Class Honours in BSc Honours in Software Systems Development. Prior to that, I completed a two-year Certificate in Science in Computing and a BSc Ordinary in Software Systems Development after my CO-OP Internship with Ericsson. I received a grade of 75+ for each academic certification, demonstrating my commitment to excellence in software engineering.Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction, and please don\'t hesitate to reach out if you have any inquiries or would like to connect.
