About Ed Carey

Ed Carey is an accomplished management consultant, business leader, board director, and retired Deloitte Senior Partner. Throughout his 39 years at Deloitte, Ed served in senior leadership roles and built a distinguished track record of service to many private equity and multinational clients.At Deloitte, Ed held roles of Vice Chairman, US National Managing Partner Industries (leading practitioners), Chairman and Global Managing Partner of the Consumer Business Practice ($7 billion in revenue), and Global Consulting Leader of the Special Acquisition Services Group (Deloitte\'s Private Equity M&A practice). He was a member of the Deloitte US Board of Directors, the US Senior Leadership Team, and the US and Global Operating Committees.Much of Ed’s client work has focused on helping private equity sponsors and companies target and execute M&A transactions and then implement the large transformational programs that accompany acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers. Over the past 15 years, Ed led Deloitte’s worldwide consulting relationship with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.(KKR). Ed directed a global Deloitte group that advised KKR on hundreds of complex domestic and cross-border private equity M&A transactions, including successful acquisitions with a combined deal value of over $110 billion, and delivered post-close transformation and value creation projects for KKR portfolio companies across the globe. Throughout his career, Ed has advised boards and C-level leaders on governance, strategy, M&A, performance transformation, and financial management - across industries including financials, consumer & retail, industrials, software, and healthcare/life sciences. His experience working in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC in a broad range of senior leadership and advisory roles, business functional areas, and industries helps him bring valuable insights into boardroom discussions. He currently serves on the boards of three mission-driven organizations: Ownership Works, PAWS Chicago, and Forward Focus Medicine.Ed holds a B.S. in Accountancy with High Honors and an MBA from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA. He completed the Corporate Director Program at Harvard Business School and the Deloitte Leadership Program at Wharton.
