I work on a broad range of matters, but predominantly deal with the buying, selling and leasing of commercial property. I have my own caseload but also to work with more experienced colleagues on larger projects. Our client base includes large landed estates and other landowners, developers, charities, universities and schools, lenders, businesses and private individuals.My work includes:• Secured lending – acting for both lenders and borrowers in property finance transactions.• Purchases and sales – advising on the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold commercial property, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and post-completion matters.• Landlord and tenant matters – dealing with the grant, renewal, assignment, and surrender of commercial leases.• Land Registry applications for first registration – preparing and submitting first registration applications.• Deeds of Variation and Deeds of Easement – drafting and negotiating variations to existing leases and other documents, as well as formalising rights of way, access, and services required for land use and development.• General asset management – assisting clients in the ongoing management of their property portfolios, including the preparation and negotiation of day-to-day property management documentation.I take a proactive and client-focused approach to all matters, combining strong technical knowledge with a clear understanding of each client’s commercial objectives. I am experienced in progressing transactions efficiently and pragmatically, while maintaining effective communication with clients, agents, and other stakeholders throughout.
