As a Research Impact Fellow in the Nature and Climate Impact Team at the University of Exeter, I work at the intersection of academia and industry to accelerate action on nature and climate challenges. Under the leadership of Professor Gail Whiteman, I\'m bridging the gap between scientific evidence and practical implementation.My role involves the global industrial systems within the food, consumer packaged goods, electronics, digital technology & communications sectors to identify crucial leverage points for change. Conducting deep consultations with industry practitioners, policymakers, and academics to understand barriers and opportunities for sustainability transformation, convening stakeholder networks, evaluating emerging innovations, or developing impact pathways that translate research into actionable strategies. I work closely with the team of sector-specific Research Impact Fellows & our Communications Impact Fellows to design, align and advance high-impact initiatives that contribute to science-informed sustainability transitions. We are building capacity to develop and implement concrete 2 and 5-year impact pathways to our knowledge base that accelerate and amplify the reach and effectiveness of our low-carbon and nature-positive impact pathways in these sectors before the end of the decade.The position requires managing research projects and securing funding to contributing to executive education programs within the Faculty of Environment, Science & Economy; collaborating extensively with university departments, including the Green Future Solutions team, the Exeter Centre for Circular Economy, and the Global Systems Institute.My work also involves significant external engagement with organizations like Arctic Basecamp, Climate Basecamp, Ode, InTent and the World Economic Forum. The role demands excellent communication skills, as I regularly present complex ideas to diverse audiences and manage relationships with senior industry stakeholders.
