WORK HISTORY
Techx Acceleration Manager @Net Zero Technology Centre
Aberdeen, GB
Within a year of joining the NZTC, I was promoted to the management team - one level below leadership. 🪜 I was now managing the department’s operations including the accelerator and support for alumni. Alongside running the accelerator, I now had a team of four full-time staff reporting to me. My remit grew to include performance reviews, staff support, and finance approvals, while also overseeing wider startup initiatives such as venture creation programmes and alumni data capture. As Manager, I became more client-facing - working with major energy giants and contributing to commercial projects. Twice I was selected to provide startup support and pitch coaching for an international energy major, including flying to Dubai for COP28 to host a startup pitch competition in the Green Zone. My passion for new ideas led to the evolution of the accelerator with the introduction of investment training hosted in-person in London, new simulations and challenges, new mock boardroom ‘Breakthrough Lab’ concept and various new training content.| SKILLS | Investor readiness: I developed training workshops, interactive challenges preparing startups for investment. I sat on investment panels, arranged investor visits and introductions and hosted investor receptions in London Management: I gained management skills in supervising individuals, producing operational plans, delivering projects, writing funding proposals and supporting clients.| ACHIEVEMENTS | Shortlisted for Go:Tech Accelerator of the Year Delivered successful Cohort 6 of TechX Accelerator with net promotor score of 91, and feedback including “The best thing were the people delivering the programme, Mariah and Ed” and “Ed & Mariah are gold and the whole thing was organised incredibly well, very professional“

ABOUT EDWARD POLLOCK
Picture this: me in a tiny kilt, fully embracing my role as an usher at my uncle’s wedding energetically welcoming all the guests. All I was missing was a clipboard and a headset to complete the look. After the dinner, the kids’ table was getting bored. So, I came up with an idea: armed with hotel notepads and pens, I convinced my cousins to become a miniature art factory. I took their creations and began selling them table-to-table for charity. Looking back, it’s no surprise that entrepreneurship, event hosting, leadership, and charity work have been at the heart of my journey ever since. I am often bubbling with ideas and enthusiasm, which has meant I’ve gotten involved an eclectic mix of projects, with some highlights being: Designing and delivering multiple startup accelerator programmes, training sessions and simulations and supporting over 300 entrepreneurs Launching my own clean water charity at the age of 18 and raising tens of thousands of pounds and travelling to Ethiopia to visit water wells Achieving qualifications with distinction in economics and event management and travelling to MIT in the US and take part in world-leading startup training Winning multiple elections for Student President and Undergraduate Governor and being on Boards making decisions on strategy and multi-million pound budgets Speaking at major events including being a 2x TEDx speaker, hosting multiple startup pitching finals, charity fundraisers, award ceremonies and being requested by a client to host a startup competition in the Green Zone at COP28 in Dubai🤝 Teaching and coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs as a lecturer and ILM-certified coach achieving a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and Enterprise Educators UK and being recognised as UK Rising Star in Enterprise Education. We are all pressed for time so I make it my mission to ensure every training workshop, event or coaching session is full of energy and value. Practical experiences and captivating memories win for me over dull presentations. When I’m not walking in the woods with Dexter (my golden retriever ), reading a book, building some LEGO, or exploring new cities around the world, I am training and helping founders solve problems and grow ventures. 🤝 1-to-1 founder coaching Keynote speaking or hosting Workshop or simulation facilitationIf you think we can work together, please get in touch!
