ABOUT EDWARD PEARSON

Ed has been leading on the medium to long term revenue strategy at LNER for over eight years. Ed is currently working to develop and secure investment in a transformational recast of the East Coast Main Line timetable; alongside the procurement of a new fleet of trains to replace the ageing Intercity 225 fleet. Ed is proud that LNER’s timetable strategy post-Covid has meant that LNER has led the recovery of rail passenger demand post-Covid.Starting as a Timetable Analysis Manager, Ed has been involved with the strategic timetable development of the Intercity East Coast franchise; including the smooth introduction of the iconic new Azuma trains to the LNER fleet and the concurrent phasing out of heritage Intercity 125 HSTs. Ed has contributed to the development of the business cases and successful introduction of new direct services between London and Lincoln, Harrogate and Middlesbrough. In his ‘free’ time, Ed is a local Town Councillor for Haxby; where he has been a key proponent for a new railway station in Haxby, overseeing the development of the business case and campaigning successfully for funding streams to deliver this important local facility.Ed is a rail industry professional with over ten years experience in transport and rail. He holds a BSc in Transport & Business Management from Loughborough University, and recently completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration through the Chartered Institute of Rail Operators at Glasgow Caledonian University.Ed has a transport planning background and has skills and expertise in Commercial Timetable Development, Demand and Revenue Forecasting, Feasibility Studies, Business Case Development, and Passenger Demand Management.
