At a time when Canada is significantly increasing funding for national defence, it is more important than ever to ensure those resources are spent effectively. As head of DND\'s Departmental Efficiency Program, I lead a team of dedicated analysts investigating opportunities to reduce waste, find savings through innovation, and increase the effectiveness of existing activities. We also track the implementation of reform measures, to ensure the anticipated benefits are realized. Through a process of continuous improvement, we will help to maximize the resources that can be devoted to the critical mission of national defence.I am also leading a \"Tiger Team\" tasked with supporting the integration of the Canadian Coast Guard into DND in relation to finance functions.
