ABOUT EDWARD KOROT
I am a vitreoretinal surgeon guided by the goal of maximally scaling improvements in patients’ lives through technology. I maintain active involvement in academic medicine through my positions at Stanford and Moorfields, while leveraging private practice and industry partnerships to drive real implementation. I expanded my interest in the space through a clinical research fellowship at UCL/Moorfields with a grant for applied automated machine learning. Simultaneously, I worked at Google Health, with a focus on the global validation of ophthalmic deep learning algorithms for clinical use, medical AI safety, quantifying model uncertainty, AI-driven pharmaceutical trial recruitment, and UX research. I then worked at Genentech on their personalized healthcare team as an AI Consultant. During retina surgery fellowship at Stanford I became the only fellow to be awarded the esteemed Michels, Heed, Gragoudas, and ASRS research awards. I co-founded Sanro Health and now advise multiple large corporations and startups alike on AI implementation.I am excited to translate this technology to the point of care, and tangibly improve the lives of patients. My personal interests include tennis, mindfulness, and last but not least Michigan football!
