ABOUT EDWARD KEMP KC
I am an employment and discrimination law specialist with cross-disciplinary expertise across a wide range of legal fields. I regularly work on difficult and ground breaking cases at every level of court all the way up to the Supreme Court and Strasbourg. Before taking silk, I was a top-ranked leading junior in the Legal 500 UK guide and listed as one of the leading employment juniors at the London Bar. I was also ranked in tier 1 as a leading junior for commercial disputes in the Middle East for many years. I came Highly Commended for Junior Counsel of the Year at the inaugural 2023 International Employment Lawyer Awards. I was shortlisted for Employment Junior of the Year in the Legal 500 Awards 2020. I am recognised as a leader in my field in Chambers & Partners UK and Chambers Global for many years. I have been described by Chambers & Partners variously as \"exceptionally talented\"(2013),\"one to watch\"; and,\"imaginative\"(2016). In the Legal 500 I have been noted for being \"solutions focussed\"(2016) and \"He has great courtroom presence, and is both reassuringly confident and persuasive\". I am noted for having \"standout expertise in discrimination cases\" and for offering \"cross-disciplinary expertise in employment, commercial and professional negligence matters\". I have a specialist interest in contractual disputes, whistleblowing and other statutory employment claims. I have specialist industry expertise in the health care sector, the police, local government and the city. A large part of my practice centres on cases with an international element or legal disputes involving cutting edge points of law. My practice is also international. I have acted as leading counsel in an intervention before the European Court of Human Rights. I have appeared in many leading employment cases in the DIFC\'s Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal in Dubai and I have full rights of audience to appear as an advocate in that jurisdiction. I am an elected member of the executive committee of the Industrial Law Society (20••••27).
