ABOUT EDWARD KEANE
I am currently a third year music undergraduate at the University of Leeds taking a year in industry abroad. While at Leeds I am actively engaged in multiple societies and opportunities, including the \'Leeds Excellence in the Arts Programme\' of which only 0.5% of the Arts, Humanities and Culture Faculty is invited to join. My placement year at Uppingham Cairo has given me experience of working in a school community, as well as adding to my experience and knowledge of other worldwide cultures and communities.Previous A-Levels were studied at Uppingham School, UK, where I received ABB in Theatre Studies, Music and History. As it has continued within my university life, at school I was a keen and committed member to many different societies as well as grasping at any opportunity that came my way. This has given me a wealth of experience in musical recitals and concerts in a wide-variety of genres. As a recognition of my impact in the broader school community, I was awarded a place in the \'XXV Club\', a position which has given me greater experience in leadership roles.Outside of my studies, I also have a wide range of work experience.Firstly, I have gained nearly a year of experience in hospitality as bartender, waiter and runner for Brunning and Price Pubs Ltd. This job gave me skills and experience in communication, customer service, teamwork and time management. In addition to this, I have also worked in a vaccine clinic during the COVID pandemic which further bettered my communication and teamwork skills. Today, I am working at Uppingham Cairo assisting teaching of music and sports, while also managing my own website, MEK’s Recs and Reviews, to deliver the best recommendations of new and old music, while also reviewing new releases.
