Edward is a company lawyer, specialising in corporate governance. Edward advises companies across a broad range, including privately held businesses (of all sizes), quoted companies and joint venture entities established by public bodies. Edward advises of the broad range of governance issues, from company administration, to board dynamics and complex structuring. Edward is a partner of Wedlake Bell LLP, the mid-market London law firm. Edward advises on a wide range of contractual agreements and is experienced in supporting the development of growing businesses, in both their governance arrangements and shareholder structuring. Edward is a corporate goverance specialist and has been responsible for the last two versions of the Quoted Companies Alliance Corporate Governance Code for Small and Mid-Size Quoted Companies (2013 and 2018). The Quoted Companies Alliance Corporate Governance Code for Small and Mid-Size Quoted Companies is the best known example of governance best practice for companies outside of the FTSE-350. Edward has also been responsible for the Quoted Companies Alliance Guide for Remuneration Committees. Edward played a leading role on the BEIS expert committee to produce the guidance for companies in preparing their registers of people with significant control (part 21A Companies Act 2006) and sits on The Law Society Company Law Committee and the Consulting Editorial Board to Lexis PSL®. Edward has a detailed understanding of deal structuring, particularly in relation to joint ventures and complex, long term projects. Edward has particular expertise in relation to low carbon infrastructure delivery, energy regulation, outsourcing, fund structures and arrangements with public sector bodies.
