About Edward Aponte
An experienced Aviation Engineering Officer, leading large specialized teams assuring the mission readiness of Air Stations equipped with up to 12 MH65 helicopters. I have a broad base of skills, with an in-depth experience across the full spectrum of rotary wing operations to include over water and land Search and Rescue, mountain flying, urban SAR, high altitude, and extreme winter environments. Mission sets include SAR, counternarcotics, logistics, and medevac with thousands of hours of NVG time in all weather conditions. Strategic level planning, enterprise management, and oversight of billions of capital assets serving as a 2 star Executive Assistant charged with the readiness, sustainment, and delivery of all air/land/afloat vehicles and infrastructure for the Coast Guard. Over 15 years of experience engaged in joint engagements with DHS components, DoD, SOUTHCOM, JIATF, and a multitude of foreign agencies. 3 years as lead technical representative between the US Coast Guard and Airbus Helicopter Inc covering all H65 helicopter engineering requirements. Professional Coast Guard and US representative at several overseas engagements and CONUS conferences driving new contract vehicles in support of the Coast Guard\'s largest fleet of helicopters.
