ABOUT EDUARDO ORTIZ-JUAREZ
I’m a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Development Economics at the Department of International Development, King’s College London; Senior Economic Research Consultant at the Strategic Policy Unit, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); and Research Associate at the Commitment to Equity Institute (CEQI), Tulane University. I have a particular interest in the study of poverty, inequalities, human development, social policy, and green development. I have served as Economist and Senior Economist at the UNDP Latin America and the Caribbean Bureau in New York, as Deputy Director of Economic and Social Analysis at the Mexican Ministry of Social Development, and I have done extensive consultancy work for several international organisations and national governments, including the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB). My research has been published in peer reviewed journals and collective volumes and has been cited over 2,400 times.
