ABOUT EDUARDO ENCINA

I am a self-motivated and creative public health professional with experience spanning local government, scientific consulting, and applied epidemiologic research. I currently serve as a Research Analyst II at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, where I lead surveillance and data analysis efforts within the Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) division. My work centers on examining trends in substance use disorder (SUD), identifying disparities, and informing strategies to reduce opioid-related harm across diverse populations.I hold an M.P.H. in Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases from Yale School of Public Health and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Loyola Marymount University. My skill set includes health exposure assessment, statistical modeling, data visualization, and spatial mapping (SAS, SQL, ArcGIS), as well as health equity-focused research translation.
