Codling Wind Park will be Ireland’s largest offshore wind farm, delivering up to 1,300 MW of clean electricity — enough to power more than one million homes. Located 13–22 km off the Wicklow coast, it is a 50/50 joint venture between EDF Renewables and Fred. Olsen Seawind and will contribute over 26% of Ireland’s 2030 offshore wind target.Offshore infrastructure includes up to 75 wind turbine generators on monopile foundations, three offshore substations, and the full suite of export and inter-array submarine cables.Onshore, electricity will connect to the Irish grid at Poolbeg through a new 220 kV substation, civil enabling works, tunnelling, and marine reclamation.The project secured a contract under ORESS 1 — Ireland’s first offshore wind auction in 2023 — and its planning application is currently progressing through determination.Codling will also deliver major long-term benefits, including a €200m Community Benefit Fund, over construction jobs, around 75 long‑term roles, and up to 1.7 million tonnes of CO₂ savings each year.I am responsible for leading the project’s overall engineering strategy and ensuring technical consistency, quality, and compliance across all work packages. I coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs — from offshore foundations and WTG design to marine operations and grid‑related interfaces.My role includes directing and supporting interface management across geotechnical, structural and electrical disciplines, and ensuring that risks, assumptions, and schedule dependencies are clearly defined and controlled.I am responsible for managing engineering engagement with internal stakeholders and external partners, including technical reviews, strategy development, and the production of deliverables required to progress the project.I play a key role in driving Codling Wind Park’s engineering integrity and its continued progress toward successful delivery.
