ABOUT EDMUND VONALLMEN

I am a data leader but more than that, I create great teams with great people. I believe that what creates a great product is developing people and teams so they can produce their best work. I believe in creating partnerships while supporting autonomy, so individuals are empowered to work on the right thing in the right way with a customer centric focus. I am an active listener paying attention to the needs of people within the organization as well as of teams I support. I advocate an environment of open communication and learning, with common goals and clear responsibilities. My tech industry career has been built on systems that, at their core, are data products. I have learned about and worked with different types of data and the numerous systems that support as well as use it. I have a value-driven mindset and understand that the true cost of data is in ensuring its quality and freshness, respecting user data, and mitigating risk in case of a breach. I am a hands-on leader who works with data to produce analytics with a focus on helping deliver value to the organization and ultimately the customers. I believe in technical innovation that is grounded in the true potential of the data. In support of this innovation, I continue to learn new techniques that express novel insights increasing the value of the data and myriad of implementations. I am a contributor in the evolution of big data and big data systems. I believe what data is consumed should be explainable with a value focus on each piece. I work with business intelligence solutions, ML, and Data Scientists that use data to create insights as well as deliver business value. I look at the value created to make sure the solution is balanced by the cost. I find patterns and make connections not arbitrary correlations. I believe in being a steward when given access to user\'s data. I enjoy conceptualizing and dreaming great dreams and thinking beyond day-to-day realities while I am also practical and aware when it is important to shift and be present to the reality of the day to day operations. I am currently managing a collection of teams from Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Data Scientist.
