ABOUT ED MATOVCIK

As a wine industry executive, I have worked to advance the global wine industry through trusted and respected relationships with key public and private sector stakeholders. I help companies grow their revenue, develop winning work cultures and scale operations through streamlined turnaround strategies, cross-functional partnership development, and collaborative leadership. As Constellation\'s Vice President of Public Affairs, I currently serve as a Board Officer of Wine Institute as well as a Board Member of the Napa Valley Vintners, Wine America and the Sonoma State University\'s Wine Business Institute.My multi-layered background in government relations, public affairs, corporate communications, trade advocacy and revenue generation has helped build and transform businesses and trade associations. I made the jump to the private sector after years of serving the Napa Valley and Sonoma wine growing regions as Chief of Staff to Rep. Mike Thompson. During that time, I managed the Congressman\'s 5-office team and spearheaded key legislative, regulatory and land use solutions for California’s wine industry, working closely with the ABC, TTB and local trade associations. I went on to Treasury Wine Estates, where I was recruited to help lead turnaround strategies that expanded direct-to-consumer sales and removed trade barriers. Here, I became immersed more directly in the wine industry and its supply chain, which primed me to take on the role of President & CEO at Intervine. I led Intervine for 12 years, growing the business to become the world\'s largest supplier of wine to the international airline industry. I believe the power of the teams I have worked with is at the core of the business transformations I have led throughout my career. I love using my multi-layered public and private sector experience to shape and execute strategy and build high performance teams that thrive on positive change and clear strategic goals. As a Board Member and Officer of the California Wine Institute and the Napa Valley Vintners, I currently devote a considerable amount of time advancing the goals of California\'s wine industry through my established network of state and federal government bodies, regulatory agencies and trade associations.
