Since joining Cornish Metals we have completely reshaped the finance function, transferring it fully from Canada to the UK. I now oversee the finance and procurement teams, reporting directly to an ex-FTSE250 CFO and the Board of Directors.The business requires a blend of the more corporate activities required by a public listing on the UK\'s AIM and Toronto TSX-V stock markets, whilst also remaining highly agile and entrepreneurial as it grows quickly from a smaller exploration focused venture into a junior mining group that builds and operates projects. The flagship project being the redevelopment and re-opening of the South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall.The Group has companies based in the UK, Canada and US. All require the regular reporting and compliance activities of management accounts, tax, risk management, insurance and cash/treasury management. In addition there is the formal IFRS quarterly reporting cycle and annual audit required for the TSX-V/AIM stock markets.Key finance-led projects include- The £57m fundraise cornerstoned by the UK\'s National Wealth Fund and Vision Blue Resources- Migrating the mineral assets of the Group from abroad back to a new UK holding company, and liquidating the previous company- Roll out of a new invoice and PO authorisation system- Consolidating the legacy tax position with HMRC across the Group- Achieving over £1m in R&D tax credits.
